Rod undertook his accountancy training with, and subsequently became a partner in Gordon Wood, Scott & Partners.
A Bristol based firm of Chartered Accountants, whose clients ranged from the 'local corner shop' to an international house building group with three hundred subsidiaries worldwide and its own treasury department controlling deep discounted bonds and operating hedge funds for currency stability.
After 12 years at GWSP Rod left and set up his own Chartered Accountancy firm which specialised in small and medium-sized businesses and which grew rapidly in the following years, mainly through client referrals. Rod is head of the firm’s tax department and specialises in creating bespoke tax solutions for clients.
Rod is married and has a son called William who was born in 2001. Following William's birth, Rod's wife Penny swapped her glamorous job as a long haul airline pilot for the very slightly less interesting role as Rod's PA. Rod's interests outside of work are numerous and include writing, history, guitar playing, all kinds of sport but particularly rugby and of course spending time with his family.
